{"id":21,"date":"2016-07-21T08:59:35","date_gmt":"2016-07-21T12:59:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2017-hwaddell\/?p=21"},"modified":"2016-07-21T08:59:35","modified_gmt":"2016-07-21T12:59:35","slug":"my-internship-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2017-hwaddell\/2016\/07\/21\/my-internship-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"My internship experience&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 21.0pt;background: white;margin: 0in 0in 21.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;color: #333333\">I had a wonderful internship experience. \u00a0Everyone was so kind and really took the time to teach me about their department and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>the role it\u00a0plays into the big picture of Keihin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 21.0pt;background: white;margin: 0in 0in 21.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;color: #333333\">My most interesting moment was when I was actually out on the floor. \u00a0I was amazed at the technology of the machines. \u00a0The floor is very organized, but very fast paced. \u00a0Everyone was working hard to meet production numbers. \u00a0I was very surprised to see &#8220;offices&#8221; on the production floor. \u00a0I&#8217;ve learned that communication and problem solving is made easier that way. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 21.0pt;background: white;text-align: start;margin: 0in 0in 21.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;color: #333333\">My biggest challenge was relating my internship experience to my classroom. \u00a0I teach kindergarten, so I had the task of &#8220;watering&#8221; it down for my students. \u00a0I wanted to make it applicable to my students, while keeping the experience authentic. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 21.0pt;background: white;text-align: start;margin: 0in 0in 21.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;color: #333333\">I was fortunate to see all departments of Keihin. \u00a0Everyone was so knowledgeable at what they did and really opened my eyes to the world of manufacturing. \u00a0You don&#8217;t realize the amount of responsibilities a department is responsible for until you sit in with them. \u00a0It didn&#8217;t take me long to see the importance of each department communicating with each other and how they tie in together. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 21.0pt;background: white;text-align: start;margin: 0in 0in 21.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;color: #333333\">My biggest take away from my internship is the importance of communication, teamwork, and being a problem solver. \u00a0The employees at Keihin have to be all of these in order for the business to be successful. \u00a0I&#8217;m ready to go back to my classroom and instill all of these important skills.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I had a wonderful internship experience. \u00a0Everyone was so kind and really took the time to teach me about their department and\u00a0the role it\u00a0plays into the big picture of Keihin.
