{"id":34,"date":"2016-12-05T21:47:16","date_gmt":"2016-12-06T02:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2017-hwaddell\/?p=34"},"modified":"2016-12-05T21:47:16","modified_gmt":"2016-12-06T02:47:16","slug":"kenan-fellowmentor-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2017-hwaddell\/2016\/12\/05\/kenan-fellowmentor-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenan Fellow\/Mentor Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>My partnership with my mentor is what has made this experience so great. \u00a0We wanted to both learn from each other. \u00a0I feel as though I gained a great contact and a friend.<\/p>\n<p>I worked with my mentor and other professionals at Keihin. \u00a0It was very important and beneficial for me to see how they all tied together.<\/p>\n<p>My &#8220;ah-ha&#8221; moment was being able to witness problem solving in a meeting. \u00a0They were behind on production on one of their lines, and all departments were working together to come up with a solution. \u00a0It made me realize the importance of group work and communication. \u00a0I knew then I had to incorporate more group work and problem solving activities in my classroom.<\/p>\n<p>I was able to work side-by-side with my mentor and on my own. \u00a0I think the alone time was very important because it gave me time to reflect and write down all my ideas.<\/p>\n<p>I know I can always call on David for anything I need. \u00a0He is willing to help me and give back to his community and surrounding communities. \u00a0It is apparent that he cares about education and knows the importance of a great education.<\/p>\n<p>We do plan to work together once my fellowship ends. \u00a0I will have him come talk to my class yearly to get them excited about different professions they have at their fingertips.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My partnership with my mentor is what has made this experience so great. \u00a0We wanted to both learn from each other. \u00a0I feel as though I gained a great contact and a friend.
