{"id":114,"date":"2017-04-30T19:48:58","date_gmt":"2017-04-30T23:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2017-jfrantz\/?p=114"},"modified":"2017-02-27T20:53:13","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T01:53:13","slug":"looking-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2017-jfrantz\/2017\/04\/30\/looking-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking Back"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=MsFrantzMath\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n<p>Looking back on this experience&#8230;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I will never forget the time when Linnea and I dissected soybeans. \u00a0I learned that I am absolutely terrible with a scalpel and a pipet. \u00a0I also learned that the scientists at Bayer are about 10 times faster at dissecting them than Linnea and I are combined.<\/li>\n<li>It was the perfect experience to to start off the school year. \u00a0Going through the fellowship over the summer and the week at NCCAT inspired me throughout the entire year. \u00a0My focus was different than in years past and I was inspired to try new things. \u00a0For instance, some technology tools I learned about at NCCAT are now some of my favorite.<\/li>\n<li>Ultimately, I grew a lot over this past year. Both my teacher network and my toolbox for activities\/ideas has also grown. \u00a0I now have a wider support system to share and exchange ideas with. \u00a0Overall, I think that with this experience I have also grown more confident as an educator.<\/li>\n<li>I would definitely recommend this program to someone else (I even have recommended it to several people at my current and former schools). \u00a0This program is an awesome mix of gaining relevant STEM experience, reflecting, and curriculum development. \u00a0It has a little bit of everything.
