There are some many ways that I will connect my summer internship to my classroom curriculum. All of the cellular growth in our Maze Runner Bacteria Lesson will connect nicely to my 7th grade science curriculum. Also, we will be looking at the scientific process with constants and variables. We will be graphing and documenting our findings in lab reports. This is going to be the most amazing seventh grade science class ever.<\/p>\n

When the plate is finished being made with the nutrients in the corner, we had to place the bacteria in the center of the maze.<\/p><\/div>\n

Our other BLAST That, Bacteria Lesson will also connect with the 7th grade science curriculum with discussions on DNA sequences, historical scientists, and family trees.<\/p>\n

I don’t know if you can see it, but the ladder DNA worked well and so did our negative. However, the actual DNA we were testing did not actually turn out very well.<\/p><\/div>\n

However, I think the most important connection that I can make between my experience and the experiences of my students is that sometimes things that we think and feel in the lab might not seem relevant to our experiment but they often are. Sometimes just enjoying yourself and being positive can make your labs turn out so much better and can give you enough energy to try a second time when things don’t work the first time.<\/p>\n
