I am a teacher at Chinquapin Elementary school. I teach 8th grade science and social studies, I have been teaching for 24 years, 12 of those years have been at Chinquapin.<\/p>\n
Why did I want to be a Kenan fellow? I want to increase my knowledge base and to learn about an area business. I believe in being a lifelong learner, if I can learn just one thing new to take back and connect with my students it will have been worth it.<\/p>\n
The goal of my internship is to be able to take back first hand knowledge of a working hog farm. This will help connect with some of my students that work on the family farm.
