This may be hard to believe since it is 2017, but this is my first EVER blog post!!!\u00a0 You’re probably thinking, “LAME” and you’re absolutely right!\u00a0 With the help of the Kenan Fellows Program though, I won’t be so lame anymore.\u00a0 I am required to complete blog posts about my experiences as a fellow throughout this summer and coming school year.\u00a0 I look forward to sharing with the world my involvement with this program during the following months.<\/p>\n
As for myself, I have just completed my 10th year teaching in NC.\u00a0 Throughout those years, I have taught all core subject areas in 3 different counties.\u00a0 Grade levels ranged from 2nd – 8th.\u00a0 My ultimate preference is 5th grade science though.\u00a0 I find the curriculum to be fascinating and rigorous.\u00a0 I reach my students through inquiry-based, hands-on experiences with STEAM and literacy integration.\u00a0 This will drive my internship with Google Fiber starting July 10th.\u00a0 I will be working with Jess George for my 3 week internship.\u00a0 I can only imagine what I will learn and experience while at Google Fiber!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
