{"id":39,"date":"2018-10-23T20:43:31","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T20:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2019-eericson\/?p=39"},"modified":"2018-10-23T20:43:31","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T20:43:31","slug":"new-ish-classroom-strategies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2019-eericson\/2018\/10\/23\/new-ish-classroom-strategies\/","title":{"rendered":"New-ish Classroom Strategies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Midway through the first semester of school, I have to admit I find myself fighting some of the same battles in my classroom as I have for the last 9 years.\u00a0 So much of what I am struggling with comes down to procedural matters; students missing work, never having enough extra copies (where do they all go?), spending too much time turning in and passing back assignments (even though we DO have procedures for these things), and the endless and thankless task of getting young people to just stop talking\u2026October is rough, y\u2019all.\u00a0 In moments like these, I often fear my class is not challenging enough or interesting enough.\u00a0 Upon reflection, though, I realize it is.
