{"id":15,"date":"2019-06-20T17:45:22","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T17:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2020-nemmert\/?p=15"},"modified":"2019-06-20T17:45:22","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T17:45:22","slug":"highlights-of-the-kfp-summer-institute-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.kenanfellows.org\/2020-nemmert\/2019\/06\/20\/highlights-of-the-kfp-summer-institute-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Highlights of the KFP Summer Institute Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Highlights of my week at the KFP Summer Institute\u00a0 at NCCAT include many aspects:<\/p>\n<p>Personal:\u00a0 Being with like-minded people with passions for learning, teaching, and exploring<\/p>\n<p>Professional:\u00a0 Creating a brand which will help me focus my learning, energy, and future endeavors to channel them into a very productive lifestyle\/teaching style<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I plan to implement using iNaturalist in my classroom.\u00a0 My students and their families has access to great technology.\u00a0 Being in a rural area and learning to embrace nature and our environment would be promoted by using iNaturalist.\u00a0 This resource will allow my students to engage in data collection and begin to be a part of scientific research.<\/li>\n<li>Compared with other PD I have attended, this week has included amazing presenters who are ALL head-over-heels in love with learning and the purpose of Kenan Fellows.\u00a0 It is an honor and extremely motivational to be part of this special group of educators.
